These individuals often have other issues, such as drug or alcohol problems, depression, anxiety, emotional problems, etc., that cause them to struggle in the classroom, and it is important to address these issues as well as the academic struggles. At Cedar Ridge Academy, we are a therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens that can help your son or daughter get their lives, and their studies, back on track. Please call us if you have any questions or concerns at 866-471-6629.

Reasons Why Teens Struggle Academically

There are a number of reasons that teenagers have trouble academically, and it usually is not at all related to a lack of intelligence. Many teens struggle with depression, which often causes a lack of motivation and laziness. This prevents the adolescent from putting forth any effort. Others struggle with drug or alcohol abuse, which also affects academic performance. Some might be pressures by their peers to skip school to use drugs or alcohol, causing poor grades. Many teenagers also struggle with things like ADHD, and simply haven't received the necessary attention they need to be successful in the classroom.

Cedar Ridge Academy Helps Teens Recover Academically

At Cedar Ridge Academy, we are a therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens that is committed to helping each one of our students get back on track academically. We offer the one-on-one attention that many struggling adolescents need to succeed with our small classroom environment. We also offer a variety of therapy programs, such as our karate therapy. We believe that exercise is critical to the overall health of adolescent minds. Exercise helps teens deal with issues like anxiety and depression by increasing their self-esteem and self-confidence. This also helps the student in the classroom. By staying physically active, we have found that our students become more motivated to succeed academically. Upon leaving our therapeutic boarding school, your son or daughter will be on track academically, and possibly even ahead. If you feel that our program here at Cedar Ridge Academy can benefit you and your family, please give us a call at 866-471-6629.
